Khanh Hoa - Catch landing reached 29,000MT

In the first four months of 2010, thanks to favorable weather conditions, fishers in Khanh Hoa landed 29,000MT of fish, equivalent to 29 percent of the yearly planned. High catch is reported in ocean tuna long line, gill nets, and sprat seiners, and lift net fisheries.

Recently, price of wild seafood is on the rise, thus increasing local fishers’ income. However, because of small - scale fishing nature, most of fishing boats operate inshore, which results the depletion of fisheries resources along coastal line. In addition, the use of banned fishing methods has not been totally eliminated.
